While primarily serving domestic flights, its capacity significantly contributes to the region’s logistics and transportation network. In terms of cargo throughput, the airport holds a commendable position within the Asian index, showcasing its importance among regional peers.
Globally, it ranks competitively, reflecting its efficiency and capability in handling substantial cargo volumes. This strategic positioning emphasises its role in facilitating trade and commerce, effectively supporting local and international markets.
Being a large airport handling more than 0.7 million tons of international cargo, the airport used a legacy IT system, and several of its processes were manual in nature. Due to this, the airport could not achieve its true cargo handling potential and was bogged down with its own weakness. Additionally, a significant amount of data was duplicated because it was reused in multiple locations.
Kale’s GALAXY cargo management system has automated the shipment triggering and document acceptance process to streamline processes that previously relied on manual data entry or were not harmonised, resulting in delays and work duplication. Proprietary messages in vernacular language were customised, a major milestone for Kale as a digital trade facilitator.
ULD Management – This module enabled sending UCM (In & Out), Stock Check Messages and LUC messages. It is capable of recording ULD closure, scale weight, and Contour code of ULD. In addition to this, it enables Ground Handlers to transmit EDI messages as per IATA and other regulatory standards.
Courier Handling –Courier and mail shipments, along with cargo shipments, are processed effectively and efficiently. Now, the user can capture the AV7/CN28 details, including the mail type. This makes handling of courier mail seamless.
Dashboard – GALAXY offers all the relevant information in a single dashboard, enabling them to make informed business decisions. This dashboard offers end-to-end information on data flowing within the ecosystem and empowers stakeholders to transform operations.
